Accessible bathroom with grab bars at Timberlight Haven
Services and care levels

What Level 3 care means in this house.

Oregon licenses adult foster homes as Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3. Timberlight Haven is a Level 3 (Class 3) home. Under Oregon rules, a Class 3 AFH may serve residents who need full assistance with four or more activities of daily living, with limits on how many people may need total bed-level care at one time.

Every admission still depends on whether this five-bed home can meet the person safely.

Help with daily living

ADLs used in Oregon AFH classification include eating, dressing and grooming, bathing and personal hygiene, mobility, toileting, and cognition or behavior support.

Personal care

Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the toilet, including grab-bar and roll-in shower support.

Mobility

Stand-by or hands-on help to move through a single-level house, use the ramp, and get in and out of a chair or bed.

Meals

Prepared meals at the dining table, with help eating when that is part of the care plan.

Medication support

Reminders and assistance as allowed in an AFH, with observation for changes that should go back to the clinic.

Health coordination

We work with families, case managers, and clinics. We do not replace the resident’s physician.

24-hour presence

Caregivers are in the home day and night. This is a residential house, not a hospital ward.

Staffing

Who is in the house.

The licensee is Betelhem Abuhay, BSN, RN. Caregivers working in the home complete required adult foster home training and background checks. Exact staffing on a given shift depends on who is on duty that day — call if you want that explained before a tour.

A typical day

  1. Morning. Help getting out of bed, washing, and dressing. Breakfast at the dining table. Morning medications as ordered.
  2. Midday. Quiet time in a private room, television in the living room, or fresh air in the fenced yard if weather and mobility allow.
  3. Afternoon. Lunch, rest, and any scheduled appointments. Staff keep an eye on how someone is moving and eating.
  4. Evening. Dinner together, evening care, and settling into a private bedroom. Someone remains in the home overnight.
